What are Scope 1, 2 and 3?+
Scope 1 is fuel you burn yourself (heating oil, company vehicles). Scope 2 is electricity you buy — in Jersey that uses the grid factor of 0.0441 kgCO₂e/kWh from French nuclear. Scope 3 is everything else in your value chain: travel, commuting, waste, water and procurement. You enter bills; we put each line into the right scope.
What is Eco-Active membership vs leadership?+
Eco-Active Member is free: complete the gov.je form and set environmental actions. Eco-Active Leader needs a third-party standard such as ISO 14001, B-Corp, 5* environmental audit, or equivalent, plus audit certificates. Both levels submit an annual return by 31 March. We produce the emissions data for that return — we do not issue the accreditation itself.
Can I show my carbon numbers on our website or social media?+
Yes. Insights and above include a public carbon ticker you can embed on your site and share to Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and X. It shows your footprint, scopes, tracking streak and a freshness badge — so regular monthly data keeps it looking live. You opt in; nothing is public until you publish.
What information do I need to start?+
Your electricity bill and any fuel receipts are enough for a useful first picture. Waste, water, travel and purchasing data can be added later.
Is this only for large organisations?+
No. The free plan is designed for any Jersey business that wants to replace a spreadsheet and understand its Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Larger and more complex engagements can use the white-glove service.
Can I export my data?+
Yes. Your entries can be downloaded, and the platform can prepare records for Eco-Active reporting.
How is the white-glove service priced?+
After a scoping conversation, we prepare a custom proposal based on the number of entities, sites or projects, data sources, integrations, reporting requirements and level of ongoing support—not employee count alone.
Does 321ZERO verify my footprint?+
321ZERO is a calculation and reporting tool, not an audit or verification service. Engage a qualified environmental professional when independent assurance is required. Eco-Active Leader status still needs your own ISO/audit certification from an approved body.
